This certificate is based on an inspection of all circuits from the consumer unit of the property. To ensure full and proper compliance, these checks can only be carried out by a trained and qualified, licensed and insured electrician.
Under this new regulation, inspections must also be carried out at regular intervals no longer than ten years or change of occupancy, and Landlords can face a penalty of up to £30,000 for failure to comply.
